Looking for last second gifts? I have two new books to tell you about!

If you are looking for a last second gift this holiday season or just a fan of SSL and ReadMe Publishing please consider two new books that I want to tell you about. The money from the sales of our print books go right into funding next year’s contests and publishing more short story and print collections year after year. So please consider picking up a copy of one or both of the following books, I really appreciate the support!

The first book is the long awaited science fiction collection named What If? Which has been in the works for some time now. This contains fourteen great short stories and were the top entries in our science fiction contest that we held a few months back which was judged by Science Fiction writer Aston West. I am very happy with this collection it has a great range of writing and covers so much ground in the science fiction possibilities. It is a must for any and all sci fi writers! Pick up a copy of What If by clicking right here!

The second book I want to tell you about is a little personal and one I am very proud of… it is my second poetry chapbook Prepare To Crash which was released in November 2009 by Big Table Publishing. Here are some reviews of the chapbook:

Salvatore Buttaci, author of Boy on a Swing, said, “Not only do Quinn’s poetic gems sparkle on the outside, you can peel them open and find below the surface a deeper brilliance with which readers can see their own reflections.”

For Alexis Czenca Belluzi (Practicing Distance) “Quinn has crafted short, outwardly simple poems that manage to push the boundaries of metaphor and irony through subtle humor. The collection is brilliantly paradoxical. And I wish I knew how he pulled it off.”

If you are interested in picking up a copy, please support a fellow small press Big Table Publishing or if you want a signed copy, please email me at editor@shortstory.us.com and we can work out the details from there!

If you are doing some travelling this holiday season nothing like a good book helps time go by faster. Pick up a copy of one of these two books (or both would be better!) and you will not be disappointed!

Have a great holiday season –

  1. Technically, the writer was T. M. Hunter…his character is Aston. :)

  2. I highly recommend Casey Quinn’s PREPARE TO CRASH.

I’d also like to announce the release yesterday of my new book FLASHING MY SHORTS, a collection of 165 short-short stories published by and available at http://www.allthingsthatmatterpress.com/buynow.htm

Reviews have been quite favorable. Here is one:

Salvatore Buttaci masters the short form in his new collection Flashing My Shorts.  The stories here are spare but powerful, and each is injected with Buttaci’s quick wit, sharp insight, and the sort of emotional depth that causes a reader to pause, for just a moment, before reading on, wanting more.
–Jen Knox, Author of Musical Chairs

    I hope you’ll order a copy today!
