Casey Quinn’s poetry collection – Snapshots of Life is released

Published By Casey Quinn • May 3rd, 2009 • Category: Short Story News

As many of you know in addition to editing this magazine and ReadMe Publishing, I also write prose and poetry of my own. Back in November of last year I was lucky enough to have a collection of poems accepted for publication by a small press and now the book is out!

The book was released last week named “Snapshots of Life” and contains 50 poems which most had been published individually over the years in various print or online journals. It is a great feeling to have the book on my desk here and reminds me why I keep at writing everyday in hopes that in the future, I can have a second book sitting right next to it.

Here is the front cover:

Here are some of the early reviews Snapshots of Life has gotten so far:

Snapshots of Life is a good first effort by budding poet Casey Quinn.
- poet, RD Armstrong

Casey Quinn is the real deal. There’s no pretense in his poetry. No fakery. He just goes out there, day after day, and gets the job done. You can’t ask for anything more than that.
- poet, John Yamrus

From the moment Casey Quinn humbly introduces Snapshots of Life – “you might just hate it, but here it is” – you can’t help but be struck by his exquisite insight into everything from God and bird-poop-induced Enlightenment to the sentimental dynamics between men and women. Every human quirk is here, laid out for your inspection, and it doesn’t matter if you like it or not because it’s the Truth he’s living right now… although that could change at any moment. This compelling browsefest through Quinn’s brain will make you laugh and think and wish you could capture the simple and elegant photos of each day with such ease.
- Robin Stratton, Boston Literary Magazine

Over the next few months I have a bunch of author interviews, book reviews, virtual blog tours and other fun stuff scheduled to help get the book out there and I am looking forward to it. Should be a fun summer and I hope if any of you see an event scheduled for my book you will be so kind to stop by and check it out.

If you are interested in picking up a copy of Snapshots of Life, it is available here, or right from the printer, here. The book is being carried by a distributor, Bowkers, and will be available from all of the major outlets within a few weeks once it has worked itself through the channels.

If you do pick up a copy and want to tell me what you think of it I would love to hear from you, or if you have any questions about the book, please email me editor@shortstory.us.com
