Published By Casey Quinn • Mar 22nd, 2009 • Category: Short Story News

There have been some great poems entered into the contest and trying to cut it down to only the top three for the cash prize and top 30 to 40 for inclusion in our poetry chapbook has been a very hard challenge.

Out of the 350 poems submitted for this contest, round one has finished and only 50 poems remain. Out of those, another 10 to 20 will be knocked out for round two which will be announced to the contestants on Wednesday.

The remaining poems will be included in the chapbook and the winner of the contest will be announced next Wednesday!

The prize includes for the winning poem $50.00 and they will receive a free hard copy of the book
Second place will be paid $25.00
Third Place will be paid $10.00

The top 30 – 40 poems will be published in a poetry chapbook to be published in June of 2009.

It has been a wonderful contest and I am extremely impressed with the entries. Such a wide range on the theme “Everyday musings” and each poet has brought with them their own voice, style and form making the contest just a very fun thing to be a part of. I look forward to the announcing the winners and to see the final poetry chapbook when it is all over.
