A Girls Pleasure – By Christine A. Kirchoff

Published By Christine A. Kirchoff • Jan 25th, 2009 • Category: Micro Fiction

Another no name rock band blasts the silence around me. I don’t know the song or care about the singer whining how sucky the world is. My eyes are on the man before me. Sweet, useless Mark. He’s begging, pleading. How pathetic.

I’m leaning against the car door, window rolled down just a bit so I can hear him grovel. A smoke between my lips, moon overhead and the sniveling sobs of a defeated man – what more can a girl ask for?

His cries turn to screams of agony as the flames consume. What more, indeed.

  1. This is wicked and soooo good, Chirs. Nice writing.

  2. Chris,
Ninety six words is all it took to paint a vivid scene! Well captured … the last para is classic!

  3. I looked at just how little there is to read here and thought ‘it will probably go nowhere’. But the last two sentences took the whole thing and went somewhere fast. I really dig this. I always enjoy something that leads you without question to believe you know what is being written about and then, with a word or phrase twists the whole thing around. Good job.

  4. Painful but touching and very near to the truth.
